If I break down on the road, are you able to pick my vehicle up with a towing service?
Car City does not offer a towing service, however, we do work directly with 3rd party operators of towing services and we can recommend recovery options upon request.
Whilst my car is off the road and with Car City, do you provide a courtesy car?
Car City does not have loaner cars to provide directly, however, whilst your vehicle is with Car City we can provide a discount rental rate with our sister company Avis.
Does Car City provide a trade-in service for my old vehicle?
Yes, but your old vehicle first needs to be assessed by the service department.
What is the recommended timefram/millage to bring my car in for service to keep it optimally maintained?
Because we live on a relatively small island, the way we drive differs from, for example, the United States.
Due to the regular shorter journeys and stop-start traffic we each average here in Grand Cayman, it is recommended that you service your car every 5000km or every 4 months.
What is the average cost to service/maintain my vehicle with Car City?
A basic oil change (minimum service requirement) averages somewhere between CI $80-$150 dependant on your type of vehicle.
We recommend this is performed every 4 months to help keep your car running well.
What is the process regarding getting a qoute for the repair of my vehicle and what is the timeframe?
We estimate quotes for vehicle repairs to take on average 24-48 hours.
The reason we take 24-48 hours to quote you for your vehicle repair is due to the process in place to ensure your estimate is calculated as accurately as possible.
We first take photos of your vehicle and record any information from you, the vehicle owner, in order to initially assess the vehicle (this takes 10-15 minutes).
The pictures are shared with the specified experts in our large team who are identified as specialists in the area of your repair requirements.
The team then get to work sourcing any parts identified as needed for your repair as well as handling the insurance companies, with your cc'd, on your behalf (Note: if it is an insurance claim, this can take an additional 2-3 days).
Once everything involved is estimates, we provide you with the quote. Once agreed, the parts are then ordered.
If I order parts for my vehicle from Car City, how long do they take to arrive?
Most vehicle parts need to be imported in.
Any imports take a minimum of 15 working days.
Does Car City sell used parts for my vehicle?
Car City only uses brand new parts for repairs carried out (and you are provided with a full parts warranty upon receiving your repaired car).
However, we do allow you to provide your own sourced used parts and we are prepared to source used parts for you, but it is important to note that under these circumstances no warranty is offered.
